Brooklyn Boheme Premieres on Showtime

Sorry it’s been a while since the last posting.  We are so proud to announce a lot of things about Brooklyn Boheme.  First of all,  we sold the film to SHOWTIME NETWORKS who will premiere Brooklyn Boheme in Feb 2012 heading up their Black History Month programming.  Also we have a brand new website for the film.

Brooklyn Boheme premieres on Sept 15th At Urbanworld

My feature documentary Brooklyn Boheme which I co-directed with Nelson George will be making it’s world premiere at the BET and HBO Sponsored URBANWORLD festival.  We’ve been working on this project for over two years now and we’re excited to finally share it with the world.  Tickets go on sale Sept 1.

Lee Hirsch’s The Bully Project gets acquired by The Weinstein Company

Dear friend and Civilian Studios director Lee Hirsch premiered his moving documentary The Bully Project this past Saturday at the Tribeca Film Festival. It was a resounding success and even more moving were the heartfelt comments of the two fathers of kids who committed suicide as a result of bullying.

Shortly after the screening, Harvey Weinstein received a call from his people and within 24hours the film was acquired by TWC. I briefly worked on the project and have been following Lee and producer Cynthia Lowen’s tremendous efforts for the past two years. I am immensely proud that their film now has a true platform to share it’s powerful message.

Congrats to you Lee. You deserve it!
