| Michael Palmieri began his career in film and
television as a gaffer and grip in the late 1980's, working on low budget films, commercials, and music videos. He migrated towards film visual effects in 1996, beginning with the film Starship Troopers at Tippett Studios in Berkeley, where he worked for 3 years as a technical director. After a stint at ILM he moved on to Protozoa/Dotcomix, a motion capture animation company in San Francisco, where he worked as director and creative lead on Duke2000, an animated political farce in collaboration with Garry Trudeau. He has since worked for interactive companies like SmashTV in San Francisco, where he directed a series of interactive music videos for release on DVD. He currently resides in New York and freelances as a director and editor, and is currently shooting and editing Made In Taiwan, a documentary about a group of black metal musicians from Taiwan. |
