"As
Ohio goes, so goes the nation." says Lee Fisher the
Democratic Candidate for Lt. Governor in Ohio. Swing State is a fascinating
behind the scenes look into one of the nation's most controversial elections.
Ohio like the nation is split down the middle between a rural conservative
south and a liberal North. Fisher, a Jewish American from Industrial
Northern Ohio is running with Ted Strickland, an ordained Methodist Minister
from Appalachia in Southeast Ohio. Their opponent is Ken Blackwell, a
charismatic African American with strong ties to the religious right.
Blackwell gained national attention for his alleged partisan oversight
of the 2004 Presidential election. The filmmakers get a rare and very
personal look at the quest for the statehouse and possibly the fate of
America.
